MU Online Selupan – Raklion Hatchery Boss Guide

Selupan is the giant spider lord of the Raklion Hatchery — a level 145 raid boss with 54.8 million HP, an egg-nest mechanic that punishes lazy raids, and one of the game’s classic sources of socket items. Every number on this page comes from the server’s own RaklionHatchery.xml and monster data.

LocationHatchery (map 58), the sealed nest at the heart of Raklion

Selupan waits at the centre of the Hatchery surrounded by 25 Spider Egg clusters placed in a ring around the nest — and the eggs are not decoration. Each egg cluster has 5.54 million HP of its own.

Spawn Cycle

On this server the Hatchery runs on a 6-hour cycle (EventStartBaseHour="6" with no random offset) — that is four Selupan fights every day, against roughly one per day on stock settings (18 hours plus a random 0–6). When a cycle opens, the boss makes its appearance 5 minutes in, and after Selupan dies the boss zone stays open for 300 seconds before closing for the next cycle.

Four windows a day means competition. On stock servers Selupan is a once-a-day guild event; here the faster cycle makes it a rotation worth camping — whoever is inside when the boss appears gets the pull.

Getting There

StepRequirement
Warp to RaklionCharacter level 380, 15,000 zen
Cross Raklion to the Hatchery entranceThe nest gate sits at the far end of the ice field — see the Raklion spawn map
Enter the Hatchery (map 58)Open only while the event cycle is active

The Spider Eggs

The nest holds 25 egg clusters in three types (the server places Spider Eggs 1, 2 and 3 in a ring around the boss). The event config tracks the egg count with two thresholds — Half="5" and Max="15" — which drive the fight’s signature mechanic: the more eggs alive around him, the more dangerous Selupan’s phases get, and hatching waves pour spiderlings into the raid.

PropertyValue
Egg clusters placed25 (three types)
HP per cluster5,540,000
Egg thresholds in config5 (half) / 15 (max)

The standard raid split: one group clears eggs while the main damage stays on the boss. Ignoring the eggs entirely is how raids wipe at 40%.

Skill Patterns by HP

Selupan switches attack patterns at fixed HP percentages, straight from SkillPatterns in the event config:

Boss HPWhat happens
80%First pattern shift — the opening poke phase ends.
60%Second shift; AoE poison and web attacks join the rotation.
50%Halfway pattern — egg pressure starts to matter.
40%Fourth shift; damage output climbs.
20%Enrage territory — heaviest attack rotation.
10%Final pattern — burn phase, everything at once.

His skill hits carry a 1.5 second internal delay (SelupanSkillHitDelay="1500"), which is the window dodge-heavy classes use to reposition between casts.

Drops

Selupan is the classic socket item boss — the fight was added to the game as the source of socket weapons and socket armor pieces, alongside high-end jewels. On this server the drop files also give Selupan a dedicated bonus drop condition on top of the regular tables (a 15% special roll in Monster_DropCondition.xml), so every kill has boss-only loot attached to it.

Strategy

TipWhy
Arrive before the 5-minute markThe boss appears 5 minutes into the cycle — raids inside the nest at spawn control the pull.
Assign an egg teamEach cluster has 5.5M HP. Two players rotating on eggs keeps the count under the config’s thresholds all fight.
Save burst for 20%The 20% and 10% patterns are the kill window race — stack damage buffs and finish before the rotation grinds the raid down.
Energy Elves and buffs win thisWith 2,500–3,000 damage per hit, party defense and healing decide whether the burn phase is survivable.
Camp the 6-hour rotationFour spawns a day — note the kill time and be back at the gate six hours later.
