MU Online Evomon Event – Evolution Chain, Spawns & Reward Boxes
Evomon is MU Online’s evolution event monster: a creature that spawns on ordinary hunting maps, and every time it dies it has a chance to respawn one level stronger. The chain can climb over a hundred levels, the monster hardens with each step, and the reward box at the end scales with how far the chain got. Every number on this page comes from the server’s own EvolutionMonsterEvent.xml.
What Is the Evomon Event?
The event runs on a simple loop:
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Spawn | An Evomon egg appears at a random spot on one of five field maps, at level 1. |
| 2. Kill | Anyone can kill it. The killer gets the reward roll. |
| 3. Reward | On this configuration the killer picks a card from the reward UI — you have 10 seconds to choose. |
| 4. Evolution roll | The server rolls whether the chain continues. On success the next Evomon spawns one level higher about 15 seconds later, announced to the map. |
| 5. Repeat or end | The chain climbs until an evolution roll fails, nobody kills it in time, or it despawns. |
Where It Spawns
Five maps host the event, every chain starting at level 1:
| Map | Start level | Map guide |
|---|---|---|
| Dungeon | 1 | Dungeon monsters & spawn map |
| Devias | 1 | Devias monsters & spawn map |
| Tarkan | 1 | Tarkan monsters & spawn map |
| Karutan 1 | 1 | Karutan 1 monsters & spawn map |
| Debenter | 1 | Debenter monsters & spawn map |
The configured activity window on this server runs through most of the day (hours 1–22 in the event settings), so outside the small nightly gap there is almost always a chain running somewhere.
The Evolution Chain
Whether the chain continues is a probability roll. On this configuration (ChangePro 48, ProV 0.7) the chance is high at low levels and falls as the chain climbs — the server floors it so a chain always has some chance to continue. Three thresholds also change the monster itself:
| Evomon level | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| 1 – 20 | Uses one skill. Easy solo kills. |
| 21 – 67 | Uses two skills. |
| 68 – 124 | Uses three skills — treat it as a boss. |
Stats by Level – the Actual Formulas
The base monster is modest — level 1, 1,000 HP, 35–60 damage, 21 defense. The scaling is what matters, and the config states it exactly:
| Stat | Formula on this configuration | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Damage | base + 10 × (level − 1) | Linear: +10 damage per level. |
| Health | compounds at ×1.05 per level | Exponential: doubles roughly every 14 levels. |
| Defense | compounds at ×1.01 per level | Slow exponential growth. |
| Attack rating | level² / 8 | Grows with the square of the level — high chains hit low-defense characters reliably. |
| Blocking | level × 3.4 | High chains start blocking hits. |
Worked examples from those formulas:
| Level | ~HP | Damage | Skills | Despawn timer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1,000 | 35–60 | 1 | 5:00 |
| 10 | 1,551 | 125–150 | 1 | 6:30 |
| 25 | 3,225 | 275–300 | 2 | 9:00 |
| 50 | 10,921 | 525–550 | 2 | 13:10 |
| 75 | 36,983 | 775–800 | 3 | 17:20 |
| 100 | 125,239 | 1025–1050 | 3 | 21:30 |
Golden (Special) Evomon
Each successful evolution also rolls a 2% chance (ChangeSpecPro 200/10000) that the next spawn is the Special Evomon instead — a golden variant that is an entirely different animal:
| Regular Evomon (base) | Special Evomon | |
|---|---|---|
| Health | 1,000 | 24,000,000 |
| Damage | 35–60 | 2,200–5,500 |
| Defense | 21 | 1,553 |
Reward Boxes – the Tier Ladder
The reward tier is driven by the Evomon’s level when it dies (one tier per ten levels). Each tier rolls a box, and the odds shift upward as the chain climbs:
| Chain level at kill | Box you get |
|---|---|
| up to ~10 | Minor Evomon Box |
| ~11 – 20 | 50% Minor / 50% Standard |
| ~21 – 30 | Standard |
| ~31 – 40 | 50% Standard / 50% Greater |
| ~41 – 50 | Greater |
| ~51 – 60 | 50% Greater / 50% Luxurious |
| ~61 – 70 | Luxurious |
| ~71 – 80 | 50% Luxurious / 50% Magnificent |
| ~81 – 90 | Magnificent |
| ~91 – 100 | 50% Magnificent / 50% Legendary |
| ~101+ | Legendary Evomon Box |
Tips
| Tip | Why |
|---|---|
| Camp the announcement | Successful evolutions are announced with a ~13 second notice before the next spawn. That is your window to reposition. |
| Pick your card fast | The reward UI gives you 10 seconds. Hesitate and the roll is wasted. |
| Bring burst at high levels | Health grows exponentially but the despawn timer grows linearly — past ~level 70 the clock becomes the boss. |
| Low chains are free loot | Levels 1–20 use one skill and die instantly. New players can farm them safely on Devias and Dungeon. |
| Watch for the gold flash | The 2% Special Evomon is worth interrupting anything for — on most servers its reward table is the best in the event. |
FAQ
What is Evomon in MU Online?
An evolution event monster that spawns on regular field maps at level 1. Every kill triggers a roll for it to respawn one level stronger, forming a chain that can pass level 100. Rewards scale with the chain level at the moment of the kill.
Where does Evomon spawn?
On this configuration: Dungeon, Devias, Tarkan, Karutan 1 and Debenter, always starting at level 1. It appears at a random location on the map.
How strong does Evomon get?
Damage grows by 10 per level, health compounds at about 5% per level and roughly doubles every 14 levels, and past level 67 it uses three skills. A level 100 chain has around 125,000 HP and hits for over 1,000.
What is the Golden or Special Evomon?
A 2% roll on every successful evolution replaces the next spawn with the Special Evomon: 24 million HP, 2,200-5,500 damage and 1,553 defense. It is a raid boss and needs a group.
How long before Evomon disappears?
300 seconds plus 10 per level. A level 1 lasts five minutes; a level 60 lasts fifteen. If the timer runs out the chain ends.
What are the Evomon boxes?
Six tiers - Minor, Standard, Greater, Luxurious, Magnificent and Legendary - awarded by the chain level at the kill, one tier band per ten levels, with a 50/50 overlap between neighbouring tiers. Box contents are server-configured.
Does the Evomon chain reset?
On this configuration the highest achieved level is remembered (memorize mode 1), so chains build on past progress rather than always restarting from level 1.
