MU Online Imperial Guardian – Imperial Fortress Event Guide

The Imperial Guardian event — the Imperial Fortress, sometimes written Empire Guardian — arrived with Season 6 Episode 3 and is still the toughest scheduled party content on most Season 6 servers. You take an invitation into a walled fortress, smash through gates defended by imperial troops, and kill the commander holding the final zone before the clock runs out.

Everything on this page — monster statistics, the day-by-day rotation, the timers and all three drop tables — is read out of a stock Season 6 Episode 3 server package, so it matches what you will meet on a server running default settings.

The Weekly Rotation

The fortress is not the same fight every day. Each weekday spawns its own set of officers and one named commander in the last zone; Sunday replaces the whole layout with a four-zone run that ends against Gaion Kharein. Six different weekday commanders rotate across the six weekdays.

DayZonesCommander(s)Guards

Tuesday3Vermont20
Wednesday3Kato20
Thursday3Galia20
Friday3Erkanne20
Saturday3Raymond20
Sunday4Erkanne, Raymond, Jerint, Gaion Kharein37

Note the pairing: Monday and Thursday share the same officers but end on Destler and Galia; Tuesday and Friday end on Vermont and Erkanne; Wednesday and Saturday end on Kato and Raymond. Sunday is the only day that fields Jerint and Gaion Kharein.

Entering the Fortress

Each weekday has its own invitation, which is what gates the event — you cannot simply walk in. The Sunday invitation is not a drop: it is mixed at the Chaos Machine from the weekday invitations, and in the stock configuration that mix also takes 1 000 000 zen.

Once inside, the server gives the party 180 seconds of standby before the first round begins. From then on each zone is a timed attack: 10 minutes to destroy the gate, clear the guards and move on. Miss the timer and the run ends where you stand.

The Four Zones

The fortress is four separate maps. A weekday run uses the first three; the Sunday run uses all four. Each zone is sealed by gate monsters that have to be destroyed before the party can advance — they have no attack at all, they are simply walls with 500 to 600 hit points.

Commanders

Gaion Kharein is the Sunday finale. The other seven are the named commanders that hold the last zone on a weekday — tougher than anything else on the map and the only monsters that use the boss drop table.

Officers

One officer stands behind each gate. They are the mid-tier obstacle: not as dangerous as a commander, but they hit considerably harder than the rank and file and they are what usually stalls an under-geared party against the clock.

Three guards of each type stand in every zone. The Medic is the one to focus first — it has the lowest health of the four and, as the name suggests, it is there to keep the rest of the garrison standing.

How the Fortress Scales to You

This is the part most guides miss. Imperial Guardian does not use the flat statistics from the monster list. The server keeps a table of multipliers indexed by your own level and applies them on the spot, which is why the event is still dangerous at level 400 and why a high-level character cannot simply carry a low-level party through it.

Your levelLevel ×HP ×Damage ×Gaion HPGaion damage
191–200×64×500×22625 000990–1 100
291–300×85×1000×321 250 0001 440–1 600
391–400×105×1800×422 250 0001 890–2 100
491–500×125×1900×472 375 0002 115–2 350
591–600×145×2000×532 500 0002 385–2 650
791–800×154×2200×572 750 0002 565–2 850

The multipliers run in 80 brackets from level 0 all the way to 800, so master-level characters keep meeting a fortress that grows with them. Defence and attack rate scale alongside health and damage.

Rewards

Three separate drop tables are in play, and they are what make the Sunday run worth the mix cost. All three are split into five level brackets; the tables below show the 301–400 bracket, which is where most Season 6 characters sit.

3 items per kill, 1 000 000 zen, and an excellent option roll on 40% of drops — four times the rate of the weekday commanders. 119 different items can appear.

General drops — weekday commanders and officers

The weekday commanders and their officers roll from the same item pool as Gaion Kharein — the difference is quantity, not quality. You get 2 items instead of 3, 400 000 zen instead of 1 000 000, and an excellent roll on 10% of drops instead of 40%. Top of the table:

The statues scattered through the fortress are a small side reward — almost always an Imp, occasionally a jewel. Worth breaking on the way past, not worth a detour.

Experience for the Final

Clearing the last zone pays a flat experience reward scaled to your level, on top of everything killed on the way there.

Strategy

  • Bring a full party of similar level. The scaling reads each player's level, so a mixed party makes the fortress harder for the low-level members without making it easier for anyone.
  • Kill the Medics first. Four guard types, and the Medic is the weakest at 500 base HP — leaving it alive prolongs every other fight.
  • The gates have no attack. Castle Gates deal zero damage. Ignore them while guards are alive, then burn them down; they are pure hit points between you and the next zone.
  • Watch the round timer, not the boss health bar. 10 minutes per zone is generous for a geared party and impossible for an under-geared one. If the gate is not down at the halfway point you will not finish.
  • Save invitations for Sunday. The weekday runs exist mainly to feed the Sunday mix. Three items at 40% excellent is worth far more than three separate weekday runs.

FAQ

What is the Imperial Guardian event in MU Online?

Imperial Guardian, also called the Imperial Fortress, is a party event added in Season 6 Episode 3. You enter a fortress map with an invitation, break through gated zones full of guards, and kill the commander waiting in the last zone before the timer runs out. There is a different commander every day of the week, and on Sunday the run is longer and ends against Gaion Kharein.

How do I get an Imperial Guardian invitation?

Each weekday drops its own invitation. The Sunday invitation is not dropped — you mix the weekday invitations together at the Chaos Machine, and in the stock Season 6 configuration that mix also costs 1 000 000 zen.

How long does an Imperial Guardian round last?

The server waits 180 seconds for players to gather, then each attack round runs for 600 seconds — 10 minutes per zone. Items dropped for another player are locked to them for 20 seconds before anyone else can pick them up.

Do the Imperial Guardian monsters get harder as I level?

Yes. The event does not use the flat stats from MonsterList.xml. Every monster is multiplied by a bracket taken from your own level, so a level 400 character faces monsters with 1 800 times the base HP while a level 200 character faces 500 times. That is why the fortress never becomes trivial.

What does Gaion Kharein drop?

The Sunday boss uses its own table with 119 possible items in the 301–400 bracket. It drops 3 items per kill against 2 from the weekday commanders, pays 1 000 000 zen, and rolls excellent options at 40% instead of 10%.

Is Imperial Guardian worth doing on a private server?

On a Season 6 server it is one of the few repeatable sources of guaranteed excellent gear with a boss table behind it. The Sunday run in particular gives three items at a 40% excellent rate plus 1 000 000 zen, which on a low-rate realm is a meaningful week's income.
