MU Online Artifacts – Types, Grades & Upgrades
Artifacts arrived in Season 18 as an entirely new equipment class. They sit in their own dedicated slot board — they don't compete with any gear you already wear — and they're shaped like puzzle pieces made of joined hexagons. Fill every slot and you get All Stats +100 for free.

How to Craft an Artifact
Artifacts are made from Artifact Pieces, and there is only one source: the Barca event map.

| 4 | Combine — 70% success (originally 80%, lowered in Season 19) for one random Type 1–7 |
You can bulk-combine up to 30 at a time. On failure all materials are consumed. The type and grade are random, so expect to make many before you get the ones you want.

Season 19 added grades. The grade is the starting value of the artifact's option, shown in brackets beside it — a grade-8 artifact simply begins from a far higher number than a grade-1. Attack-speed options cap at grade 5.

Option Pools & Roll Rates by Artifact Type
From the server’s artifact files: which options each of the seven Spider Artifact types can roll and how likely each is, plus how often each type comes out of a fragment. The option’s grade (1–10) is rolled separately with the same curve for every option — see the table below the pools.

Grade 6 is the most common roll and grade 10 appears once in 500 artifacts — which is why the grade upgrade mix exists.

FAQ
Are artifacts worth farming?
Yes — they occupy slots nothing else uses, enhancement can't destroy them, and a full board gives All Stats +100. The only real cost is Barca runs for pieces.
What's the difference between level and grade?
Level (+0 to +15) is how much you've enhanced it. Grade (1–10) is the starting value it rolled at creation. A high-grade, low-level artifact can beat a low-grade, high-level one.
Which type is best?
Type 7 is the rare tier with the highest values (+62 max attack, wizardry or curse). Beyond that it depends on your build — Type 4 for attack speed, Type 3 for survivability, Type 2 for raw stats.
Can I lose an artifact?
Only as the sub material in a failed grade upgrade. Enhancement failures never destroy artifacts.
