MU Online Master Skill Tree – Levels, Branches & Priorities

Past level 400, MU Online becomes a different game: experience converts into master levels, each feeding a point into your class's master skill tree — passive stats, mechanics upgrades and enhanced versions of your core skills. Tree planning is the highest-leverage decision of the endgame: the same character with the same gear hits dramatically harder with a correct build.

Master Levels 101

RuleDetails
UnlockComplete the 3rd class quest at level 400
Points1 master point per master level; classic cap ML200, extended each season (ML400+, then 4th-class and Majestic trees stack on top)
ExpMaster exp is separate and slower — Elite Zones, Deep Dungeon-era maps and event stacking are the efficient sources
Node rulesNodes take 10–20 points to max; deeper rows unlock after spending enough in the rows above; some nodes require a maxed parent

The Three Branches

BranchContentsWho fills it
Green (common/defense)+HP per level, defense, elemental DEF, durability reduction, potion/AG efficiencyEveryone eventually; PvP builds early
Blue (common/offense)+ATK/WIZ per level, attack speed, min/max damage, SD bypass linesDamage dealers on the way to class nodes
Class branchEnhanced skills: Flame Strike Strengthener, Triple Shot Mastery and the like — your identity skills, upgradedThe reason the tree exists

Universal Skill Priority

The pattern that survives every meta: (1) path directly to the enhanced version of your farming skill — the "Strengthener + Mastery" pair of whatever you spam — taking the flat damage passives that lie on the route; (2) max the per-level ATK/WIZ passives, which quietly outscale everything by ML150; (3) buy survival — HP per level, defense, elemental DEF — the moment you start PvPing; (4) leave convenience nodes (durability, vitality regen) for the post-cap cleanup. The classic mistake is spreading points across three half-finished branches: half-maxed nodes give half value while full nodes often carry completion bonuses.

Class Notes (Classic Trees)

ClassTree priorities
Blade MasterCombo/Death Stab strengtheners, attack speed passives, then Wing of Storm defense node
Grand MasterEvil Spirit → Grand Evil Spirit line; wizardry per-level; teleport mastery for PvP
High ElfTriple Shot mastery for damage elves; heal/buff strengtheners define support builds — pick one identity
Duel MasterPower Slash/Twisting era strengtheners + the dual stat passives MG loves
Lord EmperorFire Burst/Earthshake line + pet durability — the horse survives sieges through the tree
OthersSame skeleton: farm-skill line first, per-level passives second, survival third

The 4th Master Skill Tree (Season 20+)

Season 20 rebuilt the master tree around skill branches. Instead of 90 generic passives, each class now chooses among three Enhancement Skills — boosted versions of its signature attacks — and spends master points on link nodes (extra hit count, additional damage rate, range, splash, cooldown removal, target count), a debuff proc (Chilling, Bleeding or Poison magic circles) and passives that grow the debuff. A fourth group holds shared finishing skills (Poison Storm, Frozen Slayer, Bloodying Hit) that consume the magic circles. The classic three-branch tree below still applies on Season 4–19 servers; on Season 20+ servers open the class guide for the full node list.

Link-node effects are identical across classes — DMG Count +1 adds one hit to the connected skill, Increase Additional DMG Rate raises its additional damage %, Add Splash DMG makes a single-target skill hit around the target, Remove Cooldown Time deletes the skill’s cooldown, Increase Target adds targets. What differs per class is which skill each branch enhances and which debuff circle it spawns.

Resets and Respecs

Trees reset via the in-game option (Fruit-style items, Ruud or cash depending on version). On servers where resets are cheap, veterans keep two layouts in mind: an AoE farm spec for Elite Zone grinding and a single-target spec for bosses and duels — swapping before Castle Siege is standard practice. Screenshot your tree before experimenting; there is no built-in loadout save on classic clients.

FAQ

Do master levels give stat points too?
Master points only (for the tree) on classic settings; some servers add stat points per master level as a custom feature.

Is master exp shared in party?
Yes, party rules apply — but master exp penalties for level gaps are harsher; grind with similar-ML partners.

Which nodes are trap picks?
Durability reduction and zen-related nodes before cap — nice, never necessary. Damage and survival first.

Does the tree carry over on reset-based servers?
Server-specific: some wipe master levels on character reset, some keep them. Check your server's reset rules before grinding ML.
