MU Online Legendary Equipment – Temple Guard & Imperial
Legendary equipment is the endgame gear tier, introduced in Season 20 and extended in Season 21. It sits above every mastery tier and uses a unique two-axis enhancement system of Levels 0–15 and Stages 1–5. Best of all, it is never destroyed on failure.
What Legendary Gear Is
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Tiers | 1st — Temple Guard (Season 20, Lv 1,500) and 2nd — Imperial (Season 21, Lv 1,600) |
| Requirement | 5th class change plus the level requirement |
| How to get it | Never dropped — only crafted by upgrading the tier below |
| Craft chance | 100% for both tiers — the cost is materials, not risk |
| Enhancement | Two axes: Level 0–15 and Stage 1–5 within each level |
| On failure | Never destroyed — so no Chaos Combination Charm is used |
1st Legendary – Temple Guard
The Temple Guard line requires level 1,500 and is built from 10th mastery (Ancient Lightning) gear.
| Item | Base material | Special material | Jewels | Zen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon / shield | +15, 16-option 10th Mastery Excellent weapon | Temple Guard Anvil — Priest James, 150,000 Ruud | Bless ×30, Soul ×30, Creation ×1, Chaos ×1 | 500,000,000 |
| Armor | +15, 16-option 10th Mastery Set armor | Temple Guard Soul — Priest James, 75,000 Ruud | Bless ×30, Soul ×30, Creation ×1, Chaos ×1 | 200,000,000 |
Swords and staffs need a dedicated Anvil variant — Rage (Sword), Faith (Faith Sword), Wizard, Magic and White Wizard for the three staffs. Enhancement uses Temple Guard Enhancement Stones, which drop in the Kardamahal Underground Temple.
2nd Legendary – Progenitor's Imperial
![]() Imperial Sword | ![]() Imperial Bow | ![]() Imperial Orb | ![]() Imperial Anvil | ![]() Imperial Soul |
|---|
The Imperial line requires level 1,600 and is built from Temple Guard gear at +15 level, stage 5.
| Item | Base material | Special material | Jewels | Zen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon / shield | +15 level, stage 5 Temple Guard weapon | Imperial Anvil — Priest James, 160,000 Ruud | Bless ×30, Soul ×30, Creation ×1, Chaos ×1 | 500,000,000 |
| Armor | +15 level, stage 5 Temple Guard armor | Imperial Soul — Priest James, 80,000 Ruud | Bless ×30, Soul ×30, Creation ×1, Chaos ×1 | 200,000,000 |
Enhancement uses Imperial Enhancement Stones, which drop only in Aquilas Temple. Every Imperial weapon shares the same option block: excellent damage rate +10%, attack/magic speed +7, life and mana on kill, +3.6 attack per 20 levels and a flat +102 attack.
Levels & Stages – how enhancement works
![]() |
Legendary gear is the only equipment in MU with two enhancement axes:
| Axis | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Level | 0–15 | Raises the item's base stats, like normal enhancement |
| Stage | 1–5 inside every level | An extra effect that varies by item — attack power on a sword, magic power on a staff |
| Attempt | Condition | On success | On failure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stage up | Item is at stage 1–4 | Stage +1 | Stage −1 (never below 1) |
| Level up | Item is at level ≤14 and stage 5 | Level +1, resets to stage 1 | Level kept, resets to stage 1 |
So the loop is: climb stage 1 → 5, then push a level, which drops you back to stage 1 at the higher level.
| Path | Materials | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Normal enhancement | Enhancement Stone ×12 + Bless ×1, Soul ×1, Life ×2, 10,000,000 zen | 50% (up to 70% with a Luck option and Charm of Luck) |
| Elite enhancement | Shining Enhancement Stone ×12 (cash shop) | 60% (up to 80% with Luck and Charm of Luck) |

Exact Options & Bonus Rolls (from the server files)
Every legendary item carries one fixed excellent line that never changes plus one rolled line from a pool of five (each 20% on drop). On top of that, a small share of items roll a Legendary Bonus Option in one of three value tiers. All numbers below are read from the server’s legendary option files and formula table (Temple Guard and Imperial share the same lists).
Excellent lines by item type
| Item type | Fixed line (always) | Rolled line (one of five, 20% each) |
|---|---|---|
| Weapons, staffs, books, orbs | Excellent Damage chance +10% | Attack/Wizardry speed +7 · Life/8 on kill · Mana/8 on kill · DMG/Wizardry per 20 Lv (item level/100 × your level/20) · DMG/Wizardry +item level/3.5 |
| Shields | Defense per 20 Lv (item level/100 × your level/20) | Reflect 5% · Defense success rate +10% · Max Life +item level × 1.1 · Max Mana +item level × 1.1 · Damage decrease +item level × 0.3% |
| Fairy Elf shields | Elemental defense +(item level × 0.05)1.4 % | Same five as shields |
| Grow Lancer shields | Defense per 20 Lv | Reflect 5% · Defense success rate +10% · Max Life · Max Mana · Obsidian effect +(item level − 130)/10 × 15 |
Legendary Bonus Option – values and odds
| Item type | Bonus lines | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Roll chance (T1 / T2 / T3) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Armour & all shields | Increase defense +N Increase extra defense +N | +75 +50 | +150 +100 | +225 +150 | 1.875% / 1.25% / 0.625% (96.25% no bonus) |
| Weapons | Increase all stats +N Nuke (+N), Bolt (+N), AoE (+N) attack power | +15 +150 / +100 / +50 | +30 +300 / +200 / +100 | +45 +450 / +300 / +150 | 0.625% / 0.415% / 0.21% (98.75% no bonus) |
“Nuke / Bolt / AoE” are the three skill categories every attack skill belongs to, so a tier-3 weapon bonus adds +450 to single-target nukes, +300 to bolt-type skills and +150 to area skills — on top of the all-stats line. A bonus is rolled once, when the item is created; enhancing the item afterwards never adds or removes it, which is why a bonus-rolled Temple Guard piece is worth far more than its +level suggests. On this server the bonus options can also be re-rolled through the Legendary Item Change Option mix at the Chaos Machine.
The Full Upgrade Path
Legendary gear sits at the very top of a long chain. Here is the whole ladder:
| Tier | Name | Level | Season |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5th mastery | Blue Eye | 1,000 | 15 |
| 6th mastery | Silver Heart | 1,100 | 16 |
| 7th mastery | Manticore | 1,200 | 17 |
| 8th mastery | Brilliant | 1,300 | 18 |
| 9th mastery | Apocalypse | 1,400 | 19 |
| 10th mastery | Ancient Lightning | 1,500 | 19 |
| 1st Legendary | Temple Guard | 1,500 | 20 |
| 2nd Legendary | Progenitor's Imperial | 1,600 | 21 |
Each step consumes a +15 16-option item from the tier below, so the material cost compounds sharply toward the top.
Buying from Priest James? The exact excellent-option pairs each mastery weapon can roll, with percentages and the Mastery Bonus Option odds, are listed in the Ruud guide.

FAQ
Can Legendary gear drop from monsters?
Only the Excellent variants (e.g. Excellent Temple Guard armor) drop in the newest hunting grounds. The Set versions with the level/stage system are craft-only.
Is it worth it?
Yes at endgame — the craft is 100%, enhancement never destroys the item, and the full-set bonus adds Extra critical, excellent and damage rates you can't get anywhere else. The barrier is the +15 16-option base item.
What's the fastest way to level it?
Farm enhancement stones in the matching map — Kardamahal for Temple Guard, Aquilas Temple for Imperial. You need 12 stones per attempt at 50%, or the Shining version for 60%. Always climb to stage 5 before attempting a level.
Do I lose my options when upgrading?
Fixed, random, stat and Luck options carry over. Jewel of Life and Harmony options are deleted, and the item resets to level 0 stage 1 — so enhance after upgrading, not before.
