What the Labyrinth of Dimensions Is
The Labyrinth of Dimensions is MU Online’s roguelike floor climb. You enter a grid of rooms stitched together from pieces of real hunting grounds, clear whatever each room demands, and take a door onward. Every floor you clear makes the next one harder — and the scaling is written into the server files, not improvised.
It is the closest thing MU has to a dungeon run: short, repeatable, scored, and it does not care how much gear you have as long as you can survive the floor you are standing on.
How a Run Is Built
The maze is not random noise. The server ships 30 prebuilt layouts, each a 10×10 grid of rooms, and picks one per run.
| Room type | Rooms per layout | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Normal room | 61 of 100 (61%) | Clear or walk through |
| Mission room | 37 of 100 (37%) | Complete the objective to open the exits |
| Boss room | 1 of 100 (1%) | The floor boss |
| Entrance | 1 of 100 (1%) | Where you drop in |
So a little over a third of every floor is a locked mission room and the rest is open ground — a floor is never a straight walk, and never wall-to-wall objectives either.
The Rooms Are Real Maps
Every room is a slice of an actual MU hunting ground. The server defines 38 room templates pulled from these maps:
Lorencia, Noria, Lost Tower, Tarkan, Ferea, Aida, Kanturu Ruins, Karutan 1, Karutan 2, Raklion (Field), Raklion (Boss Zone), Swamp of Calmness, Acheron, Debenter, Uruk Mountain, Vulcanus, Land of Trials (Siege Hunting Zone), Nixie Lake, Dungeon, Devias, Arena, Devil SquaRE 1~4.
They are not used evenly. Across the shipped layouts the most-used room templates are Raklion (Boss Zone) (3 rooms per floor), Dungeon (3 rooms per floor), Uruk Mountain (3 rooms per floor), Devias (3 rooms per floor), Swamp of Calmness (3 rooms per floor), Arena (3 rooms per floor) — so if a stretch of the maze feels familiar, it is.
Mission Rooms
A mission room locks its exits until you finish the objective. The server defines these objective types:
| Objective | Target on this server |
|---|---|
| Kill a set number of monsters | 15 monsters |
| Kill them inside a time limit | 15 monsters |
| Deal a damage total | 1,500,000 damage |
| Survive for a set time | 60 seconds |
| Kill without being hit | 15 monsters |
| Kill a specific monster type | 15 monsters |
| Deal damage inside a time limit | 150,000 damage |
The kill objectives ask for a mix of three monster types at once, so single-target builds take longer here than AoE builds. The damage objectives — 1,500,000 in one room, or 150,000 against the clock — are the ones that gate undergeared characters.
The Dimension Goblin
A special goblin (monster index 757) can appear while you run, at a 20% chance per eligible zone, in up to 10 zones at once. Killing it is worth 2,000 league points — more than clearing any single floor below the 41st.
Practical read: if a goblin shows up, drop what you are doing and kill it. It is the single highest-value action available inside the Labyrinth.
Floor Scaling — the Real Numbers
Monsters are multiplied by a per-floor factor. This is the whole difficulty curve, straight from LabyrinthOfDimension.xml:
| Floor | Health | Damage | Defence | Level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ×1.0 | ×1.1 | ×1.0 | ×1.0 |
| 5 | ×1.4 | ×1.8 | ×2.2 | ×1.4 |
| 10 | ×1.9 | ×3.3 | ×3.7 | ×1.9 |
| 15 | ×2.4 | ×4.3 | ×5.2 | ×2.4 |
| 20 | ×2.9 | ×5.3 | ×6.7 | ×2.9 |
| 25 | ×3.4 | ×6.3 | ×7.8 | ×3.4 |
| 30 | ×3.9 | ×7.3 | ×8.8 | ×3.9 |
| 35 | ×4.4 | ×8.3 | ×9.4 | ×4.4 |
| 41 | ×5.0 | ×9.5 | ×10.0 | ×5.0 |
The maze runs to floor 41. By then monsters have ×5.0 health, hit for ×9.5 and carry ×10.0 defence. Note the shape of it: defence climbs fastest (×10.0 by the end), damage second, health slowest. That means the wall you hit is usually your own damage output, not your survivability — a tanky character can stand on floor 41 and still be unable to kill anything.
Experience is set to ×0 on every floor. The Labyrinth pays in rewards and league points, never in levels — do not run it to grind exp.
League Scoring
The Labyrinth runs as a monthly league. Points come from four places:
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| Kill a Dimension Goblin | 2,000 |
| First run of the day | 1,000 |
| Finish quickly (under 20 minutes) | 250 |
| Clearing a floor | 50 × floor number, halved on repeats |
Floor points scale linearly — floor 1 pays 50 on the first clear and 25 on repeats, floor 41 pays 2050 and 1025. Because repeats are worth exactly half, the league rewards climbing deeper far more than farming a floor you have already beaten.
The schedule file runs a fresh cycle every 7 days with a reset day at the start of each week, ending on day 29 of the month.
Rewards
Clearing floors drops Labyrinth Boxes in three grades — Lower, Medium and Higher — with the better grades gated behind deeper floors. The box contents are configured per server, so check your server’s own drop list, but the grade you earn is decided purely by how far you climb.
Combined with the league standings at the end of each cycle, that gives two separate reasons to push depth: the box grade on the way, and the ranking at the end.
Running It Well
- Bring AoE. Mission rooms ask for multiple monster types at once; single-target damage doubles your clear time.
- Chase every goblin. At 2,000 points it beats clearing several floors.
- Take the daily first run. 1,000 points for simply entering once per day.
- Watch the clock. Finishing under 20 minutes is worth 250 extra points, so a fast shallow run can beat a slow deep one.
- Stop climbing when you stop killing. Defence scales faster than anything else; the floor where your damage stalls is your real ceiling.
- Do not run it for experience. It is set to zero by design.
Labyrinth of Dimensions FAQ
How many floors does the Labyrinth of Dimensions have?
The server config defines 41 floors, each with its own monster multipliers.
Does the Labyrinth of Dimensions give experience?
No. The ExpLevel multiplier is 0.0 on every floor. Rewards come from Labyrinth Boxes and the monthly league, not from levelling.
Is the Labyrinth layout random?
The rooms are drawn from 38 templates taken from real hunting grounds, arranged into a 10×10 grid. The server ships prebuilt layouts rather than generating one per run.
What is the Dimension Goblin worth?
Killing it is worth 2,000 league points on this configuration — more than clearing any floor below the last one.
Why can I not kill anything on the deep floors?
Because defence scales harder than health. By the final floor monsters carry 10.0 times normal defence but only 5.0 times normal health, so damage output fails before survivability does.
How do the league points work?
Floor clears pay 50 points per floor number, halved for repeats. On top of that: 2,000 for a goblin, 1,000 for the first run of the day and 250 for finishing under 20 minutes.
