MU Online Castle Siege – The Endgame Guild War
Castle Siege is MU Online's flagship event: once a week, the strongest guilds fight a multi-hour war over Loren Castle. Everything in the game funnels here — gear, master builds, guild politics — because the castle pays taxes, unlocks an exclusive hunting map and crowns the server's ruling alliance.
The Weekly Cycle
| Day | Phase |
|---|---|
| Mon–Thu | Sign of Lord farming — monsters everywhere drop signs |
| Registration window | Guild masters donate signs at the Loren NPC; top sign totals qualify as attackers |
| Preparation | Owner buys gates, statues, guards and traps with the castle treasury |
| Sunday (typical) | The siege itself — default 2 hours in the Valley of Loren |
Registration & Alliances
Only guild masters register, and the guild's sign donation total decides the attacker slots — sign farming is the first battle, fought all week. Alliances (up to 2–3 guilds by version) attack and defend as one: allied members enter the siege zone, share the crown and share the win. A guild that misses registration can still fight as a hired ally on some servers, but only registered sides can take the crown.
Siege Phases
| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Gates | Attackers burn the outer, then inner castle gates — Dark Lord summons and AoE trains dominate the choke points |
| 2. Crystal Statues | Three statues must fall to unlock the throne path; defenders rebuild between waves if the treasury allows |
| 3. Throne room | The Crown Switch: an attacker channels the crown (~30s), a second confirmation switch follows — any hit interrupts it |
| 4. Hold | New owners instantly become defenders; the war continues until the timer ends — last holder wins |
Key siege objects
Sits in the throne room. An attacking guild master channels it for about 30 seconds to claim the castle — any hit interrupts the cast.
Two switches flank the Crown. Both must be activated by the attacking guild before the Crown can be channelled, so the throne room needs three coordinated players.
The castle steward inside the throne room. The owning guild master uses him to set the tax rate, hire guards, repair gates and manage the castle treasury.
Strategy Essentials
Attackers: split into a bait wave and a real push — defenders' AoE walls burn cooldowns on the bait; the switch squad (tanky, SD-stacked, ideally 3+ rotating switchers) slips in behind. Kill statues in one coordinated burst, not gradually. Defenders: the ramp above the throne is the whole game — layered Evil Spirit/Twister walls plus stun rotations there beat any zerg; keep one officer watching the crown at all times, and spend the treasury on gates every week without exception. Everyone: pre-siege buff stacking (Muuns, elf buffer, Dark Lord crits) and a voice channel win more sieges than gear does.

FAQ
What level do I need for Castle Siege?
No formal minimum, but sieges are endgame — under-geared members die in seconds on the ramps. Bring your best or bring signs.
Can a guild without the castle use Land of Trials?
No — owner alliance only. That map alone motivates half the sieges on most servers.
Do potions/consumables work in siege?
Version-dependent restrictions apply (SD potions often limited). Check your server's siege rules.
What happens if nobody attacks?
The owner keeps the castle unopposed — common on late-life servers where one alliance consolidates.
