MU Online Pets Guide – Fenrir, Dark Horse & Every Pet
Pets occupy their own equipment slot and range from the humble Imp (+30% damage for a level 5 character) to the crafted Horn of Fenrir — the classic status symbol of MU Online. This guide covers every pet's effect and source, the complete three-stage Fenrir craft with farming spots, and the color upgrades that turn a plain Fenrir into a Golden one.

How to Make Fenrir (Full Walkthrough)
The Fenrir craft is a three-stage Chaos Machine chain. All materials drop in Crywolf — Balram, Soram and Death Spirit are the usual targets. Budget for failures: at classic rates the full chain averages several runs of materials.
| Stage | Recipe | Result | Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (×5) | ~70% | ||
| 2 | Fragment of Horn ×5 + | ~50% | |
| 3 | Broken Horn + Jewel of Life ×3 + 1 Jewel of Chaos | ~30% |
Fenrir gives +200 HP, the fastest mounted movement in the classic game, and lets you attack while mounted. Its durability drains when you take hits — repair with Jewels of Bless dropped onto the horn.
Fenrir Color Upgrades
| Upgrade | Recipe (classic) | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Fenrir (defense) | Fenrir + armor piece +11 +4opt or higher + 5 Bless + 5 Soul + 1 Chaos | +10% damage absorb while mounted |
| Black Fenrir (attack) | Fenrir + weapon +11 +4opt or higher + 5 Bless + 5 Soul + 1 Chaos | +10% damage while mounted |
| Golden Fenrir | Blue or Black Fenrir + excellent item +11 +4opt + 10 Bless + 10 Soul + 1 Chaos | +200 HP/Mana, +10% DMG and the AoE Plasma Storm skill |
Upgrade rates are low (~25–40% classic) and the sacrificed item is consumed — feed the machine a cheap qualifying item, never your gear.
Dark Lord Pets: Dark Horse & Dark Raven
The Dark Lord's signature companions work differently: they gain experience and level up with the Command stat instead of draining durability. The Dark Horse is a mount with the Earthshake stun and damage absorption that scales to roughly 30% at high level; the Dark Raven is an autonomous attacker whose damage and hit rate grow with its level and your Command. Both lose experience on character death, and both are re-summoned via spellbooks if lost — the reason every Castle Siege lord babysits their horse's level.
Pet Care Basics
| Pet | Maintenance |
|---|---|
| Angel / Imp / Uniria | Durability drains with use; cheap to replace — carry spares |
| Dinorant / Fenrir | Repair by dropping Jewels of Bless (Fenrir) or via NPC; Dinorant can also roll bonus options at craft |
| Dark Horse / Raven | Level them; protect the level by not dying — experience loss applies |
| Premium pets | Usually indestructible but time-limited or account-bound — check the item description |

FAQ
Can I use a pet and wings together?
Yes — pets use their own slot, and bonuses stack with wings.
Imp or Angel for a new character?
Imp for grinding speed (+30% damage), Angel when you start dying. Most players carry both.
Where exactly do Fenrir materials drop?
Crywolf map — all regular monsters there drop Splinters, Bless of Guardian and Claws at decent rates. An AoE class clears a full material set in a few hours.
Can Fenrir fly to Icarus?
No — Icarus still requires wings or a cape; Fenrir is ground-only but works everywhere else.
Which Fenrir color is best?
Black for farming and PvP damage, Blue for siege tanking, Golden if you can afford it — Plasma Storm plus the stat bonuses beats both.
