MU Online Season 2 – Kanturu, Jewel of Harmony & 380 Items
Season 2 (August 2006, released as Legacy of Ruin and Legacy of Doom) is one of the most influential updates MU Online ever received: it added the Kanturu world, the Maya/Nightmare raid, the Jewel of Harmony with the entire item enhancement system, and the first level 380 items with PvP-exclusive options. This guide recreates the full update from the original patch notes — the mechanics below are exactly what Season 2 servers run today.
Looking for a Season 2 server?
Season 2 servers are pure classic MU — Kanturu, Jewel of Harmony refining and the 380 gear ceiling, with no master levels and no later power creep.

| Reason | Detail |
|---|---|
| The last pre-master classic | Season 2 is the final version before master levels arrived in Season 3 — progression ends at the level cap, which keeps every character permanently comparable. |
| Jewel of Harmony endgame | Harmony refining gives gear depth without later seasons' power systems — hunting the right enhancement roll is the endgame. |
| Kanturu & Nightmare | The Kanturu event chain is the version's signature raid — small, hard and repeatable. |
| Low-rate heaven | A tiny item pool and 380-level gear ceiling make Season 2 the classic choice for slow, long-lived low-rate servers. |
If Season 2 feels too bare, Season 6 keeps the classic feel with more content — it is the most-run version in the scene.
The Kanturu World

Kanturu is reached from Tarkan (199, 6) or the move command/window. It splits into the Archaeological Site (Kanturu 1–2) and the Ruins (Kanturu 3), with the Refining Tower at its heart. Original entry settings:
| Map | Entry level | /move level | Move cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kanturu Archaeological Site (Kanturu 1–2) | 150 | 160 | 12,000 zen |
| Kanturu Ruins (Kanturu 3) | 220 | 230 | 12,000 zen |
The update added 11 regular monsters and 2 bosses — Satyros, Blade Hunter, Iron Rider, Twin Tail, Persona, Dreadfear, Kentauros, Gigantis, Genocider, Berserker and the splinters guarding Maya herself.

The Kanturu Event – Maya & Nightmare
The Refining Tower runs a fixed server-wide cycle: the tower stands open for entry roughly 23 hours, then closes, moves everyone to the safe zone, and opens the boss map for 2 minutes — 15 players maximum. Entry requires a
Moonstone Pendant, hunted from Kanturu Ruins monsters.
| Stage | Mechanics | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Maya's Left Hand | Maya summons a monster wave; clear it and the Left Hand appears | 15 min |
| 2. Maya's Right Hand | 2-minute re-entry window, new wave, then the Right Hand | 15 min |
| 3. Both Hands | Final wave, then both hands fight together | 20 min |
| 4. Nightmare | Maya collapses; 30 seconds later Nightmare spawns with summons — he re-summons whenever his adds drop low | 20 min |

Dying during the fight teleports you to the Ruins safe zone; a full wipe or timeout fails the cycle and the event re-arms after a delay. Victory keeps the Kanturu core open — and feeds the server's harmony economy. Full modern mechanics: Kanturu event guide.
Jewel of Harmony – the 7th Jewel
Season 2's headline system. Gemstone ore drops from Kanturu monsters; refining it at NPC Elpis (77,177) in the Refining Tower yields a Jewel of Harmony on success — on failure the ore is destroyed. The jewel then grants one random enhancement option to a normal or excellent item (set/ancient items excluded, one option per item). Two original rules worth knowing: enhanced items cannot be sold to NPC shops or traded through personal stores, and the option pool depends on the item's + level.
Enhancement Options by Item Level
| Item +level | Weapon option pool |
|---|---|
| +0 – +5 | Min ATK, Max ATK, required STR −, required AGI − |
| +6 – +8 | + ATK (min&max), critical damage |
| +9 – +12 | + skill attack, attack rate (PvP), SD decrease rate |
| +13 | + SD ignore chance — the legendary roll |
| Item +level | Staff option pool |
|---|---|
| +0 – +5 | Wizardry, required STR −, required AGI − |
| +6 – +8 | + skill attack, critical damage |
| +9 – +12 | + SD decrease rate, attack rate (PvP) |
| +13 | + SD ignore chance |
| Item +level | Armor/shield option pool |
|---|---|
| +0 – +2 | Defense |
| +3 – +5 | + max AG, max HP |
| +6 – +8 | + HP auto-regen |
| +9 – +12 | + mana auto-regen, defense rate (PvP), damage decrease |
| +13 | + SD ratio increase |
The rule of thumb baked into the system: upgrade the item first, harmony it second — a +13 item rolls from the deepest pool.
Refining Stones & Restoration
| System | NPC | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Osbourne (Aida 86,13) | Sacrifice items: excellent → Higher stone, normal → Lower stone; failure destroys the item. Low-tier gear (short swords, leather-through-wind sets and similar) must be +4 or better | |
| Refining | — | Stone on enhanced item: success raises the harmony option one level, failure resets it to base. Higher stones succeed more often |
| Restoration | Jerridon (Aida 86,13) | Removes the harmony option (and the no-trade penalty) for zen, 100% success — cost scales with item level and option |
On later versions Osbourne and Jerridon moved into Kanturu Ruins — check your server. Full modern option values: Harmony options guide.

FAQ
Is this guide accurate for Season 2 private servers?
Yes — it is rebuilt from the original 2006 Webzen patch notes (Legacy of Ruin and Legacy of Doom), so values match authentic Season 2 files. Custom servers may tweak rates and NPC positions.
Why can't I trade my harmony-enhanced item?
Original Season 2 rule: enhanced items cannot go to NPC shops or personal stores. Use NPC Jerridon to strip the option first.
What made Season 2 so important?
It introduced systems still central 20 years later: Kanturu and its raid, harmony enhancement, refining, and PvP-specific item options — the template for every gear system that followed.

Browse the Season 2 private servers currently listed — new openings are added daily.
Where do 380 items drop?
Kanturu maps and its bosses — the drop levels in the tables are the item drop tiers, and the Refining Tower cycle is the reliable source.
