MU Online 1st Level Wings Guide – How to Craft Level 1 Wings
1st level wings are the first crafted wings in MU Online and one of the biggest early power spikes for any character. They add +12% damage, 12% damage absorption, extra defense and increased movement speed — and they let you enter Icarus, which requires wings or a cape. On most modern servers they can be equipped at level 150 (level 180 on older versions and many Season 6 servers).
This guide covers every 1st level wing and cape, the full Chaos Machine crafting process step by step, and tips to save jewels and improve your success rate.

On older game versions the Summoner wing is called Wings of Mistery, and Dark Lord / Rage Fighter / Grow Lancer have no 1st level wing at all — they get their first cape at tier 2 (Cape of Lord, Warrior's Cloak, Cloak of Limit). On modern servers those classes simply share the wings listed above.

How to Make 1st Level Wings (Chaos Machine)
1st level wings are crafted at the Chaos Goblin Machine in Noria in two stages. This is the classic method used on Season 6 and most private servers:
1Craft a Chaos Weapon
Put a
Jewel of Chaos and any item upgraded to +4 or higher with +4 option or more into the Chaos Machine. On success you receive one of three random Chaos Weapons:
| Image | Chaos Weapon |
|---|---|
| Chaos Dragon Axe | |
| Chaos Nature Bow | |
| Chaos Lightning Staff |
2Upgrade the Chaos Weapon
The wing combination requires the Chaos Weapon at minimum +4 with +4 option. However, the success rate scales with the weapon's upgrade level and option — serious crafters push it to +9 with +16 option (or as high as their jewels allow) using Jewels of Bless, Soul and Life to get close to the maximum success chance.
3Combine into wings
Place the upgraded Chaos Weapon and another Jewel of Chaos into the Chaos Machine and run the 1st level wing combination. On success you receive a random 1st level wing — you cannot choose which one.
Crafting on Modern Servers (Season 18+)
On official servers and newer seasons the process was streamlined into the Chaos Goblin's [Equipment Upgrade/Craft] → Wings (Cape) Craft menu with three stages: combine a Chaos Weapon and materials into a Lv. 1 Wing Divine Object, then run the Lv. 1 Wing (Cape) Combination to receive a random 1st level wing or cape. The Help page in the craft UI registers all required materials from your inventory automatically.
Success Rate Tips
Three things decide how expensive your wings will be. First, the Chaos Weapon upgrade: every + level and every +4 option adds success chance, so a +9+16 weapon is dramatically safer than a +4+4 one. Second, craft during server events — many private servers run Chaos Machine rate boosts on weekends. Third, buy instead of craft when the market is cheap: after a server has been open for a few weeks, 1st level wings often sell for less than the cost of the jewels needed to make them.
Before Level 150: Small Wings
If you have not reached the wing level requirement yet, equip small wings (0-level beginner wings) first — they require only level 1, give +10% damage and 10% absorb, and carry you comfortably until you can craft your real wings.

Once your first wings are equipped, these guides take you further:
| Guide | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| All MU Online wings | The complete wings overview — every tier and every class on one page. |
| Craft 2nd level wings | Farm Loch's Feather in Icarus and turn your 1st wing into +32% damage at level 215. |
| 1st Wing Relic in detail | The stackable, tradeable intermediate item of the modern Lv. 1 wing craft — and why crafting relics to sell is profitable. |
| Skip the random result | 1st level wing talismans (Satan, Heaven, Elf, Curse) guarantee the wing of your class on success. |
| No wings yet? | Small wings require only level 1 and carry you until the level 150 craft. |
FAQ
What level do I need for 1st level wings?
Level 150 on most modern servers, level 180 on classic versions and many Season 6 private servers.
Can I choose which wing I get?
No — the result is random. If you receive a wing for another class, trade it or sell it and craft again.
What happens if the combination fails?
All materials are destroyed. Higher Chaos Weapon upgrades and luck reduce the risk.
Do 1st level wings drop from monsters?
No. They are only crafted in the Chaos Machine, traded between players, or won in events.
What comes after 1st level wings?
2nd level wings at level 215 (crafted from your 1st wing + Loch's Feather), then 3rd level wings at level 400.
