MU Online Season 9 – Uruk Mountain, Battle Core & Tetra Spheres
Season 9 (2014) pushed MU past the single server: the Battle Core cross-server battleground put every realm's strongest in one arena, while Uruk Mountain and its 24-hour boss Lord Silvester gave the elemental endgame its destination. Sockets grew to Tetra grade, and Part 2 rebuilt character stats themselves. From the original patch notes with the original artwork.
Uruk Mountain
![]() Entry portal in the Acheron safe zone (66,221) | ![]() The volcanic map with its two field portal lines |
|---|
Acheron's new elite hunting ground — no Arka War, no Acheron Guardian, and dying sends you back to the Acheron safe zone. Two color-coded field portals shortcut the map: blue (42,80) ↔ (215,34), red (41,98) ↔ (109,230).

| Wind Whirlwind | AoE damage + knockback around him |
| Wind's Curse | Hits for 20% of your HP and shoves you away |
| Wind's Call | At 70% / 50% / 20% HP summons 3 guardians each — he takes no damage until all are dead |
| Regeneration | 20,000 HP per second while nobody stands near him — no hit-and-run |
| Loot | Pentagrams, socket items, spheres and Tetra crystals |
Battle Core – the Cross-Server Arena
![]() | "Our server is the strongest! Our guild is the strongest! My character is the strongest!" — Battle Core exists to settle it: one Red and one Blue battle server where characters from every normal server meet. The elf Elin in Loren Market (113,132) sends you over with her "illusion clone" magic (~3 minutes), and your main can even stay online at home while the clone fights. |
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| What copies over | Account/character name, stats, skills, cash items and buffs, worn gear + main inventory |
| What stays home | Vault, quests, friends list — and your zen (everyone gets a flat 100,000,000 zen on entry) |
| Economy off | No trades, no personal shops; NPCs sell and repair for 1 zen — pure combat, zero economy |
| Slots | 2 characters per account may apply; premium services (moves, renames) reset Battle Core scores |
| Chaos Castle (normal) | Runs on Battle Core every 1–2 hours (01:00–00:00 schedule); points: monster kill 2, player kill 3, winner 50 |
Plaza of Trials
The Devil Square pushed to its limit as a Battle Core league: 2-player teams fight 15 rounds — boss rounds at 5, 10 and 15 spawning 200+ monsters at once — scoring kill points plus per-round survival points. 2–10 teams enter; qualify top-2 and your duo is locked for the main rounds. Together with the Chaos Castle Survival it formed MU's first true e-sports ladder, with renewed champion rewards in Part 2.
4th-Level Seed Spheres (Tetra)
![]() The Seed Master handles the synthesis | ![]() Upper: +60% success | ![]() Middle: +45% | ![]() Lower: +30% |
|---|
| Synthesis (Seed Master) | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sphere (Tetra) — drops from level 132+ monsters | 1 |
| Seed Sphere (Tri, 3rd grade) — sets the element | 1 |
| 10-Chaos bundle + 10-Creation bundle | 1 each |
| Zen | 1,000,000 |
| Tetra Crystal (optional success boost) | 1 |
Failure destroys everything — the crystals from Silvester exist precisely to blunt that. Full socket mechanics: socket system guide.
Part 2 – Renewals & Systems
| Update | Details |
|---|---|
Stat specialization ![]() | Every class gains bonus abilities from its signature stats (tooltips show exactly what each point adds), counted from all stat sources — base, fruits, master tree, sets and buffs. | Gremory Case | The reward mailbox: event-map and GM prizes land in a case window (50 character slots + 50 server-wide slots), claimable to inventory before their expiry — the ancestor of every modern reward vault |
| Fist Master expansion | The Rage Fighter's master tree grew past rank 5 to full parity with the other classes |
| Muun & widescreen | Muun window improvements and native widescreen resolution support — 2014 finally looked like 2014 |
| Champion rewards | The Survival leagues' prizes renewed — the time-limited champion wings got their modern forms |

FAQ
Where can I play Season 9?
Browse the Season 9 private servers listed — and all of this ships in later versions too.
How do private servers handle Battle Core?
Most single-server projects skip it or rework it into an events server; its Survival leagues usually run on the main world instead.
Is Lord Silvester worth camping?
He is the era's richest single spawn — but the 24-hour timer means guilds schedule around him. Bring a group: the summon phases and proximity regen hard-counter soloists.
Do Tetra spheres replace lower grades?
They top the ladder (bigger option values), but the Tri sphere you feed in decides the element — so the lower grades stay part of the chain.
