MU Online Lucky Sets & Lucky Item Tickets – Every Set, Bonuses & Odds
Lucky items are a special kind of ancient set that you cannot find on the ground: they come out of Lucky Item Tickets (1st and 2nd tier, one per equipment slot). A lucky piece has no stat requirements and a level 1 requirement, in most cases more defense than the normal item, a unique look on the classic classes — and a clock: its durability ticks down while worn and it cannot be repaired, traded or stored. This guide reads the ticket configuration and set files of a Season 21 server and lists all 28 lucky sets, the odds behind every ticket, and how smelting turns a lucky item into a permanent one.

What Lucky Items Are
| Property | Lucky item | Normal item |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Only from a Lucky Item Ticket (1st or 2nd) for the matching slot | Drops, shops, Chaos Machine |
| Requirements | Level 1, no STR / AGI / ENE requirement — a new character can wear a Dragon or Legendary lucky set | Full stat and level requirements |
| Defense | Usually higher than the normal piece on the 1st-ticket sets (Scale 77 vs 59, Sphinx 80 vs 62); a few 2nd-ticket sets sit below the normal item (see the set table) | Base value |
| Set bonus | Ancient set bonus — every lucky set is an ancient set with its own name (Moros Scale, Hegaton Dragon, Taros Legendary…) | None |
| Ancient stat bonus | Tier I +5 (70%) or Tier II +10 (30%), rolled when the ticket is opened | — |
| Durability | 255, drops by 1 every 40 minutes worn and cannot be repaired at the shop; 0 durability = unusable until smelted or extended | Repairable |
| Trade / store / sell | Not tradeable, not sellable to NPCs, not storable in the vault or personal shop, cannot be dropped | Free |
| Look | Unique “lucky” models for the five classic classes and the Summoner; newer classes reuse the normal armour model | Standard |
| Upgrades | Jewels of Bless / Soul / Life work (server option, enabled on IGCN defaults); excellent options and Harmony are also permitted by default | Same |
Why they exist: lucky sets are a starter kit. On launch day a fresh character in a full lucky set has a five-piece ancient bonus, Double Damage and more defense than anyone in shop armour — for free, for about a week of wearing time. Then the clock runs out and you either smelt it or move on.
The Ten Lucky Item Tickets
There is one ticket per slot — Helm, Armor, Pants, Gloves, Boots — in two tiers. Double-click the ticket and it turns into the lucky piece for your class: a Dark Knight opening a 1st Lucky Helm Ticket always gets a lucky Scale Helm, a Fairy Elf a Silk Helm. Two class exceptions are hard-coded: the Magic Gladiator cannot use Helm tickets (his sets have no helm) and the Rage Fighter cannot use Gloves tickets.
Ticket Odds – What You Actually Roll
Opening a ticket rolls four things independently: the item’s +level, its option (+4 / +8 additional defense), Luck, and the ancient tier. Skill and excellent options are never rolled. Exact rates from the server files:
Item level
| Level | 1st Lucky Ticket | 2nd Lucky Ticket |
|---|---|---|
| +0 | 3.429% | 0% |
| +1 | 6.857% | 0% |
| +2 | 10.286% | 0% |
| +3 | 20.571% | 0% |
| +4 | 17.143% | 0% |
| +5 | 13.714% | 0% |
| +6 | 11.719% | 0% |
| +7 | 7.812% | 0% |
| +8 | 5.469% | 0% |
| +9 | 0.941% | 0% |
| +10 | 0.706% | 0% |
| +11 | 0.471% | 0% |
| +12 | 0.353% | 0% |
| +13 | 0.235% | 0% |
| +14 | 0.176% | 0% |
| +15 | 0.117% | 99.998% |
A 1st ticket lands mostly on +3 to +6 (about 63.147% of rolls) with a 0.117% chance of a straight +15. A 2nd ticket is effectively always +15.
Option, Luck and tier
| Roll | Result | Chance (both tickets) |
|---|---|---|
| Additional option | +0 | 70% |
| +4 | 20% | |
| +8 | 10% | |
| Luck (+crit rate, +25% jewel success) | Yes / No | 50% / 50% |
| Ancient tier | Tier I (+5 stat) | 70% |
| Tier II (+10 stat) | 30% | |
| Skill | Never | 0% |
| Excellent options | Never from the ticket (can be added later where the server allows) | 0% |
Lucky Set Bonuses
Every 1st-ticket set shares one bonus template and every 2nd-ticket set shares another — the class only changes the look and the defense. Lines unlock by piece count exactly like normal ancient sets.

Durability, Expiry & Smelting
A lucky item starts at 255 durability and loses one point every 40 minutes it is equipped (2400 seconds in the config) — about 170 hours of wearing time. It does not lose durability from taking hits and does not tick in the inventory. At 0 it stops working; the shop cannot repair it, but a Jewel of Extension can restore a 0-durability lucky item on servers that allow it (IGCN default: allowed).
Smelting is the way out of the timer. Put the lucky item in the Chaos Machine with a Jewel of Chaos and smelt it: on success the item becomes the normal, permanent version of itself (a lucky Dragon Helm +13 becomes a regular Dragon Helm +13 with its luck and option, ancient bonus removed); on failure the item is destroyed. The odds depend on remaining durability:
| Durability when smelted | Success |
|---|---|
| Full (255, never worn) | 60% |
| 1–254 (worn at all) | 10% |
So the real decision is made the moment you open the ticket: wear it for the week of ancient bonuses, or smelt it untouched for a 60% shot at a free permanent +15 (2nd tickets) piece. Wearing it even once drops the smelt to 10%.
Where Lucky Item Tickets Come From
| Source | Notes |
|---|---|
| New-character / starter rewards | Most servers hand the five 1st tickets to new characters through the Gremory Case or a level-up gift box — that is what they were designed for. |
| Cash shop | On this server’s config the 1st tickets sit in a free promotion category and the 2nd tickets cost 4,000 coins each; other servers price them differently or leave them out. |
| Events | Lucky Coin exchange, anniversary and holiday event quests, and event NPCs frequently pay out tickets or complete lucky sets. |
| Not from monsters | Lucky armour pieces have Drop=0 in the item list — they never drop, only the tickets do. |

FAQ
What is a lucky item in MU Online?
An ancient-type armour piece obtained only from a Lucky Item Ticket. It has no stat requirement, a level 1 requirement, higher defense than the normal item and an ancient set bonus, but its durability runs down while worn and it cannot be repaired, traded or stored.
What is the difference between 1st and 2nd Lucky Item Tickets?
1st tickets give a low set (Scale, Silk, Sphinx, Violent Wind, Robust and the newer-class equivalents) at a random level, mostly +3 to +6. 2nd tickets give a mid set (Dragon, Legendary, Guardian, Dark Soul, Red Wing, Storm Jahad and equivalents) at +15 almost every time.
How long does a lucky item last?
Durability 255, minus one point per 40 minutes equipped - roughly 170 hours of wearing. It does not tick while in the inventory.
Can lucky items be repaired?
Not at the shop. Servers can allow a Jewel of Extension to restore a lucky item at 0 durability; IGCN files enable this by default.
What does smelting a lucky item do?
Smelting in the Chaos Machine converts the lucky item into the normal, permanent version of the same item. Success is 60 percent at full durability and 10 percent once the item has been worn; failure destroys it.
Are lucky sets ancient sets?
Yes. Each lucky set is a named ancient set (for example Moros Scale or Hegaton Dragon) with a Tier I +5 or Tier II +10 stat bonus rolled when the ticket is opened, and the usual piece-count bonus lines.
Can a Magic Gladiator or Rage Fighter use every ticket?
No. The Magic Gladiator cannot open Helm tickets and the Rage Fighter cannot open Gloves tickets, because their sets have no such slot.
