MU Online Devil Square Guide – Entry, Waves & Rewards
Devil Square is MU Online's pure grind event: no gates, no objectives — just four wave phases of dense monsters in a closed arena, with rewards ranked by contribution. For AoE classes it is the best experience event in the classic rotation.
The Entry Ticket: Devil's Invitation
| Item | Source | |
|---|---|---|
| Devil's Eye (+1 to +7) | Monster drop in the matching bracket | |
| Devil's Key (+1 to +7) | Monster drop in the matching bracket | |
| Devil's Invitation | Chaos Machine: Eye + Key (same level) + 1 Jewel of Chaos (~60–80%) |
Enter through Charon in Noria during the opening window — late entry costs wave time.
Square Levels
| Square | Character level | Invitation |

| Devil Square 1 | 15 – 130 | +1 |
| Devil Square 2 | 131 – 180 | +2 |
| Devil Square 3 | 181 – 230 | +3 |
| Devil Square 4 | 231 – 280 | +4 |
| Devil Square 5 | 281 – 330 | +5 |
| Devil Square 6 | 331 – 400 | +6 |
| Devil Square 7 | Master levels | +7 |
The Four Waves
Each square runs ~15 minutes in four escalating phases — new monster types spawn on a timer regardless of whether the previous wave is cleared. The winning strategy is positioning: hold a corner or chokepoint where spawns funnel into your AoE, and keep potions hotkeyed — the third and fourth waves outdamage most healing if you stand in the open. Kill count (not damage) drives your contribution score on classic settings, which favors fast low-damage AoE over slow big hits.
Rewards
Experience throughout (DS beats BC for raw exp if you can hold a spawn corner), Zen from kills, box drops during waves, and the end ranking: top contributors receive jewels — classically Soul and Creation, the reason Creation prices track DS activity. On modern servers the ranking rewards scale to Ruud or event currency.
Devil Square Rooms and Level Brackets
Devil Square runs seven separate squares, each locked to a level bracket. You can only enter the one matching your level, so everyone in a square is roughly equal.

Because later waves are stronger, the last third of a round is where most of the experience sits. Staying to the end is worth far more than clearing the opening wave quickly.

FAQ
How often does Devil Square open?
Classically every 4 hours; most private servers run it more often — check the event clock.
Party or solo?
Party for survival, solo for ranking — contribution is individual, so strong AoE classes often go alone to keep the top reward.
DS or BC for leveling?
DS if you have AoE and can hold a corner; BC if you are support or under-geared — its rewards don't depend on kill ranking.
