Stage 1 – Prove Your Strength

Level 380, 5,000,000 Zen. Collect three trophies:

All three drop at 10% — far kinder than the earlier quests. Set MU Helper auto-pickup to Flame, Horn and Feather.

Reward: +20 stat points.

Stage 2 – Infiltrate the Barracks of Balgass

Level 400, 7,000,000 Zen. Pay the Werewolf Guardsman in Crywolf to enter Balgass' Barracks, then kill 20 each of three monsters:

You pay the entry fee every time you enter, so try to finish in one run. Kills count for every partied member who has the quest active — going in as a group is much faster.

Reward: +20 stat points.

Stage 3 – Into the Realm of Darkness

Level 400, 10,000,000 Zen. Inside the Barracks, find the Gatekeeper at (120, 168) and enter Balgass' Refuge.

TargetDetail
Dark Elf (Trainee Soldier)Level 128 · 1,000,000 HP · kill 1
Her mechanicStuns every 5 seconds for 3 seconds — you will spend much of the fight unable to act.
RespawnRoughly 3 hours if she has already been killed.

Bring a party. The stun makes soloing her miserable, and with 1.5 million HP a single character takes a long time. If she is not up when you arrive, you are waiting for the respawn timer.

Reward: +30 stat points, your class evolution, and the Master Skill Tree.

Barracks of Balgass – Map and Monsters

The Barracks of Balgass is the instanced map used by stage 2 of the 3rd class quest. It is reached from Crywolf by paying the Werewolf Guardsman, and it holds three Trainee Soldier monsters — the only ones that count toward your quest.

MonsterLevelHPDefenseDamageKills
Balram (Trainee Soldier)11775,000480550–65020
Death Spirit (Trainee Soldier)11885,000490580–68020
Soram (Trainee Soldier)11990,000500600–70020

Note the (Trainee Soldier) suffix. Ordinary Balram and Soram exist elsewhere in the game at much higher levels — level 132 and 134 with 140,000 and 164,000 HP — and killing those gives you no quest credit. Check the name before you commit to a pull.

Getting to the Refuge of Balgass

The Refuge of Balgass (Balgass' Resting Place) is a second map beyond the Barracks, used by stage 3. You do not re-enter from town — you go through the Barracks:

StepWhat to do
1Enter the Barracks of Balgass from Crywolf via the Werewolf Guardsman.
2Cross to the Gatekeeper NPC at (120, 168).
3Click him to move into the Refuge of Balgass.
4Kill Dark Elf (Trainee Soldier) — one kill completes the stage.
BossLevelHPDefenseDamage
Dark Elf (Trainee Soldier)1281,000,000640800–900

Her damage is modest for the level — the difficulty is entirely the 1 million HP pool combined with her stun. Expect a long fight and bring a party.

HP and damage figures are taken from live server files. Private servers commonly adjust these, so treat them as the standard baseline rather than a guarantee.

FAQ

What level is the 3rd class quest in MU Online?
It starts at level 380 with Apostle Devin in Crywolf (228, 48). The last two stages need level 400.

How much Zen does the 3rd class change cost?
22,000,000 Zen total — 5 million, then 7 million, then 10 million. The Barracks entry fee is charged again on every re-entry.

How do I beat the Dark Elf?
Bring a party. She has 1,000,000 HP and stuns for 3 seconds every 5 seconds, so a solo kill is extremely slow. If she has already been killed, she respawns after roughly 3 hours.

What does the 3rd class change unlock?
+70 stat points across the three stages, your 3rd class evolution, and the Master Skill Tree.
